🔎 Things to remember
Given that the reliability of carbon footprint calculations is a key factor in promoting the green transition, the Association for Low-Carbon Transition ( ABC) has announced the renewal of the Tennaxia solution’s certification of compliance with the Bilan Carbone® method through February 2029. Conducted by the independent external auditor, Inoal, this renewal confirms the technical and methodological robustness of a solution designed to meet carbon accounting requirements and already used by leading companies.
The Bilan Carbone® method, developed by ABC, is a leading methodology for calculating and reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
The term “Bilan Carbone®” has become widely used and is now part of everyday language. However, the low-carbon transition requires impeccable methodological rigor. Given the proliferation of tools with varying levels of rigor, this compliance certification aims to ensure the robustness of these approaches and to guide companies in selecting reliable solutions to effectively structure their climate strategy.
Flexibility, transparency, and completeness recognized by the audit
The analysis conducted by ABC and Inoal highlights several key strengths of Tennaxia's carbon accounting software, including:
- Flexibility and versatility: The analysis highlighted “significant flexibility” in conducting the inventory and structuring the data, whether in terms of organizational structure or emissions categories. This is an essential feature for complex, multi-site organizations.
- Methodological transparency: The audit found the clarity of the calculation rules and data sources to be “very good.”
- Comprehensive scope and holistic approach: The Tennaxia solution enables users to address all emission categories covered by the Bilan Carbone® method andaggregate results at the organizational level, regardless of the organization’s complexity. The audit also highlights the solution’s ability to go beyond the carbon lens alone to address other environmental and social challenges. This aligns with the comprehensive CSR approach championed by Tennaxia since its inception. As such, the solution integrates the market’s leading reference databases: BaseEmpreinte® (ADEME),Agribalyse®, DEFRA, and INIES.
“Far from being a mere formality, this three-year renewal validates the methodological rigor of our solution as well as the alignment of our communications with the ABC’s requirements and ADEME’s carbon neutrality principles,” explains Julien Victor, CEO of Tennaxia. “Our users are professionals who need a tool that matches their level of expertise and the challenges they face. This translates into clear, actionable dashboards for management teams and serves expert users, who need them to analyze and drive change.”
A strong signal in a rapidly evolving market
This update comes at a time when carbon accounting requirements are accelerating across the board, driving the market for carbon measurement tools to evolve and become more structured in turn. Compliance with the Bilan Carbone® method therefore serves as an objective benchmark for organizations seeking a methodologically sound solution.
“Today, companies are no longer asking themselves whether they should measure their emissions, but rather how to ensure the reliability and robustness of those measurements—especially within large or complex organizations—which is a prerequisite for implementing truly actionable decarbonization plans. This compliance certificate addresses precisely that challenge,” adds Julien Victor, CEO of Tennaxia.
