The need to involve local teams to meet climate commitments
Sodexo, a global leader in sustainable food and high-value experiences, has committed to reducing its GHG emissions by 34% by 2025 compared to 2017, across scopes 1, 2, and 3.
To accelerate the company's decarbonization process, Sodexo decided to equip its operational teams with a tool that enables them to locally analyze their carbon footprint and build a specific action plan to reduce it.

Tennaxia allows for modeling an organization, regardless of its complexity, thanks to a 100% configurable tree-structure system.
For Sodexo, a structure by group activity and by country was preferred. More than 50 countries in total were configured in Tennaxia to achieve the level of granularity desired by Sodexo's climate teams and to reflect the group's internal organization.
Individual contributors are granted specific access and rights for certain scopes chosen by administrators based on their roles and responsibilities.

Connection to various data sources
To measure Sodexo's emissions, Tennaxia consolidates various operational data via their ERP system, including energy consumption, food purchases, logistics, waste, etc.
Emission sources are then classified by category.
One of Tennaxia's strengths: categories are 100% configurable, which allowed Sodexo to maintain the structure of its previous Carbon Footprint reports.

Visualization of emissions and targets by country
Once the data is integrated into the tool, each Sodexo country and entity is able to know its carbon footprint and identify its main emission sources.
Thanks to our trajectory module, entities can also visualize the efforts they need to make to align with the global reduction target.
Entities are now autonomous and ready to build an action plan that will enable them to align their emissions with the group's commitments.

Development and monitoring of action plans
Through our "Action Plan" module, CSR managers in each country can determine their optimal path to achieve their objectives.
To create an action plan, they can choose from an existing catalog of actions or create new ones: the tool allows them to model complex decarbonization actions and quantify their carbon and financial impact.
Once the ambition and timeline for the actions are defined, the user can launch their action plan. All Sodexo teams are now committed to reduction!

In order to combat climate change, we must reduce our greenhouse gas emissions and achieve our target of a 34% reduction in Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions by 2025 compared to 2017, as validated by the Science-Based Target Initiative.
