01/11/2024: Vehicle Equipment Requirements for Winter in Mountainous Areas

"Winter" tires must be identified by the joint presence of the "alpine symbol" marking and one of the "M+S", "M.S", or "M&S" markings starting November 1, 2024. This corresponds to the 3PMFS marking.

As a reminder, vehicles must be equipped with winter tires or have snow chains or socks in their trunk that can be fitted to two drive wheels from November 1st November to March 31 in the municipalities of mountainous areas listed by prefectural decree.
