12/03/2025: End of the use of perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), its salts, and PFOA-related compounds in firefighting foams
These substances may be used until this date in firefighting foams intended for the suppression of liquid fuel vapors and for fighting liquid fuel fires already contained in systems, whether mobile or fixed, provided the following conditions are met:
- they are not used for training;
- they are not used for testing, unless all releases are contained;
- they are only authorized on sites where it is possible to contain all releases;
Stocks of firefighting foams that contain or may contain PFOA, its salts, and/or PFOA-related compounds must be managed in accordance with the provisions of Article 5 of the POP Regulation (requirements for stock management).

12/06/2025: Deadline for the re-examination file for ICPE 3xxx facilities whose main BREF is "Forging and Casting"
ICPE operators, classified in particular under headings 3230a and 3230c of the ICPE nomenclature, for whom the "Ferrous Metals Processing" BREF has been selected as the BREF corresponding to their main 3000 heading, have until November 4, 2023, to submit their re-examination file.
