12/03/2025: End of use of perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), its salts, and PFOA-related compounds in firefighting foams
These substances may be used until that date in firefighting foams intended for the suppression of liquid fuel vapors and for fighting liquid fuel fires that are already contained in systems, whether mobile or fixed, subject to the following conditions:
- they are not used for training;
- they are not used for testing unless all discharges are contained;
- they are only permitted at sites where it is possible to contain all discharges;
Stocks of firefighting foams that contain or may contain PFOA, its salts, and/or PFOA-related compounds are managed in accordance with the provisions of Article 5 of the POP Regulation (requirement relating to stock management).

12/06/2025: Deadline for resubmission of files for ICPE 3xxx facilities whose main BREF category is "Forges and foundries."
ICPE operators classified under headings 3230a and 3230c of the ICPE nomenclature, for whom the BREF "Transformation des métaux ferreux" has been selected as the BREF corresponding to their main heading 3000, have until November 4, 2023 to submit their review dossier.
