04/08/2024: Mandatory installation of a building automation and control system for new buildings

The requirement to install a building automation and control system applies to new buildings (building permits filed after April 8, 2024):

  • in which commercial or non-commercial tertiary activities are carried out, including those belonging to legal entities (companies, associations, etc.) in the primary (agriculture) or secondary (industrial) sectors,
  • AND which are equipped with a heating or air conditioning system, whether or not combined with a ventilation system, with an effective rated output greater than 70 kW

Note: until now, new tertiary buildings were affected only if the effective rated output exceeded 290 kW.
