What is CDP?

The CDP, formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project, is an international non-profit organization whose ambition is to generalize the publication of data on environmental impact and the climate strategies of companies and cities.

Founded in London in 2000, CDP has succeeded, particularly by leveraging investors' demands for transparency from their companies, in accelerating the public disclosure of companies' environmental impact. At a time when regulatory standards for non-financial reporting are struggling to emerge, CDP collects environmental data from thousands of companies each year and today represents one of the largest and most accurate corporate environmental databases in the world.

CDP currently supports over 18,700 companies and over 1,100 cities and states in measuring and managing their risks and opportunities related to climate change, water security, and deforestation.

What is CDP's mission?

The environmental reporting standard developed by CDP allows financial and public markets to compare companies' climate performance, level of commitment, and ambition towards ecological transition.

Beyond the standardization of data required for serious climate reporting set by CDP, the organization functions similarly to a rating agency for corporate environmental performance. Each year, CDP considers the information provided as part of its annual reporting process and scores companies and cities on the various aspects (Climate, Water, Forests), encouraging them to become leaders in environmental transparency and action.

Through its independent scoring methodology, CDP measures the progress of companies and cities and encourages concrete actions on climate change, forest preservation, and water resource security.

What is CDP partner certification?

CDP has launched an accreditation program for solution and service providers operating in the environmental field to help organizations disclosing to CDP identify quality providers to accelerate their transition towards environmental leadership.

Accredited solution providers support organizations working with CDP to improve their disclosure levels and take the necessary action for a sustainable economy. Whether they are renewable energy experts, software platforms, or verification bodies, CDP-accredited providers offer a wide range of expertise and services to help companies implement their sustainability strategy.

Through an accreditation process that notably verifies solution credentials, CDP has built a reliable network of accredited solution providers worldwide.

Traace's CDP Certification

Traace is proud to be a CDP-accredited solution provider today in the following 6 categories:

What is CDP's partner accreditation process?

In addition to the various security requirements, the main criterion evaluated for CDP certification is obtaining testimonials from at least 6 client references, including at least three companies that respond annually to CDP and three large enterprises.

These references are asked to provide feedback on the types of services requested, the quality of services provided, the solution's value for money, or its ROI and finally, how comfortable the company would be recommending the evaluated solution to a peer.

Traace client references provided to CDP for our accreditation.

At Traace, we are fortunate enough to work with incredible and committed clients who have helped Traace grow and who, as part of the CDP accreditation process, provided exceptional feedback about our solution and support.

Here is an excerpt from the responses provided by some of our clients, which they authorized us to share:
