March 11, 2024: HFO refrigerant leak checks and leak detection
HFOs (unsaturated hydro(chloro)fluorocarbons) are refrigerants with low global warming potential and are often used as replacements for HCFCs and HFCs. Examples of HFOs include R-1234yf and R-1234ze.
The new F-GAS III regulation requires leak checks for the following equipment that contains more than 1 kg of unsaturated HFOs not contained in foams:
- fixed refrigeration equipment, air conditioning, and heat pumps;
- fixed fire protection equipment;
- organic Rankine cycles;
- electrical switchgear;
- refrigerated trucks and trailers.
The frequency of these checks depends on the HFO charge.
Furthermore, fixed refrigeration, air conditioning, heat pump, and fire protection equipment must have a leak detection system when the HFO charge exceeds 100 kg.
March 28, 2024: Deadline for the first PFAS substance analysis campaign for authorized ICPEs under categories 2791, 3510, 3531, 3532, 3540, 3560 or unlisted categories
Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, also known as PFAS, degrade very little after use or release into the environment.
ICPEs requiring authorization for categories 2791, 3510, 3531, 3532, 3540, 3560 or categories not mentioned in the decree of June 20, 2023 must conduct a PFAS substance analysis campaign each month for 3 consecutive months.
March 31, 2024: GEREP declaration for the year 2023
GEREP declarations for reference year N must be submitted on the dedicated website by March 31 N+1 at the latest for establishments subject to GEREP reporting (and not covered by the Emissions Trading System (ETS) for greenhouse gases).

March 31, 2024: Deadline for biowaste recovery certificate
Collection or recovery service providers must submit annually, by March 31, to biowaste producers or holders who entrusted them with waste the previous year, a certificate stating the quantities in tonnes, the nature of the waste they collected separately the previous year for recovery, and its final recovery destination.

March 31, 2024: Deadline for 7-stream waste certificate
Waste recovery facility operators and intermediaries involved in waste collection, transport, trading, or brokerage must submit a certificate annually, by March 31, to waste producers or holders who transferred paper, metal, plastic, glass, wood, mineral fraction, and plaster waste (referred to as "7-stream" waste) to them.
This certificate must state the quantities in tonnes, the nature of the waste entrusted to them the previous year for recovery or disposal, and their final recovery destinations (type of facility and, newly, geographical location).
March 31, 2024: Technical certification requirement for agents performing explosive detection dog activities
The end of the transitional period during which explosive detection dog missions could be carried out by agents holding only a professional card allowing them to perform human surveillance and security activities had been postponed to March 31, 2024 (from December 31, 2023, initially).
