HSEES April 2024 deadlines reminder

Since April 8, 2024, new commercial and industrial buildings must incorporate an automation and control system from 70 kW of power.

08/04/2024: Obligation to install a building automation and control system in new buildings

The obligation to install a building automation and control system applies to new buildings (building permits submitted after April 8, 2024):

  • in which market or non-market tertiary activities are carried out, including those belonging to legal entities (companies, associations, etc.) in the primary (agriculture) or secondary (industry) sectors,
  • AND equipped with a heating system or an air-conditioning system, whether or not combined with a ventilation system, with an effective power rating of more than 70 kW.

Note: until now, new tertiary buildings were only concerned if their rated output exceeded 290 kW.
