Two players, one shared goal: decarbonizing industry
Launched in 2022, OpenClimat aims to democratize climate information. The startup enhances the transparency of companies' environmental practices by publishing verified, harmonized, and accessible information on its platform. A leader in the retail sector, OpenClimat centralizes information exchange between manufacturers and distributors. To date, its distributor clients include Leclerc, Casino, and Auchan, and it references over 1,000 companies such as Bel, Henkel, and Sodebo.
Traace (Tennaxia group), for its part, enables companies to effectively manage their ESG strategy to reduce their carbon footprint, accelerate their transition to a sustainable economic model, and comply with increasing regulatory requirements. Its data platform offers a unique set of features, allowing companies to simplify the collection of greenhouse gas emissions data across their entire value chain, structure their carbon trajectory, implement action plans to achieve their environmental objectives, and conduct a financial analysis of their climate action plan.
This collaboration between OpenClimat and Traace will thus enable them to highlight the climate actions of their respective clients and collaborate more effectively with all their stakeholders. This partnership also comes at a time when companies are required to demonstrate greater transparency in their sustainability reports, including CSRD reports, to which the largest among them have been subject since January 1st , 2025.
Facilitating climate data sharing to accelerate collaborations
In practice, Traace's clients will now be able to use the platform provided by OpenClimat to share their climate actions and collaborate with their stakeholders, particularly distributors like E.Leclerc, Auchan, and Casino, who use OpenClimat to access their suppliers' climate data. For its part, OpenClimat commits to promoting Traace's solutions to its users for measuring GHG emissions and managing their decarbonization trajectory. Initially, the partnership aims to promote transparency within the retail sector, then expand to all economic sectors.
“We are very pleased with this partnership with Traace, one of the most relevant carbon accounting platforms on the market for companies advanced in their decarbonization journey. This partnership allows us to amplify our shared missions: democratizing transparency and accelerating corporate decarbonization!" says Vincent Pappolla, CEO and Co-founder of OpenClimat.
"By collaborating with OpenClimat, we strengthen our commitment to promoting transparency and climate action within companies. This partnership is an important step in helping our clients achieve their sustainability goals," adds Thomas Guyot, CSO of Tennaxia, Co-founder of Traace.
